The Azawakh is an oriental sighthound, bred since centuries by the
Tuaregs. The breed first appeared in Europe in the early 70's and was recognized by the
Fédération Cynologique Internationale in 1981.
The Azawakh is an extreme dog in exterior and in character. This breed
came out of the desert only a few generations ago and kept the pride and the dryness of
its original environment.
